In early November had the amazing opportunity to partake in the Marine Corps Exchange re-grand opening at Camp Lejeune, by providing head-to-toe makeovers to two deserving marines. Given the opportunity to participate in this humbling experience we were immediately excited for the challenge. As our CEO Gary Shar states, “The ability to give back and partake in making over some Marines, making them feel great, confident, sexy and changing their lives for a day is something we like to do.”  Both women were injured during their service to our country and are recipients of the Purple Heart.

Sgt. Herrington from Maryville, Tennessee, joined the service in June 2006 and was assigned to the Truck Company, Headquarter and Support 2nd Battalion. Sgt. Herrington was first deployed to Iraq from January 2007-February 2008; with her second deployment form January 2009-August 2009. She was awarded the Purple Heart after injury from an IED on her first deployment. She loves horseback riding and watching CSI Miami. She is also a soon to be mom and is currently 5 months pregnant.

Lt. Lance Corporal Pothoof from Bay City, Michigan, joined the service in October of 2009 and was assigned to the Combat Logistic Regiment 2, 2nd Marine Logistics Group. She was deployed to Afghanistan January 2011, but her tour was cut short on March 8, 2011 when she was injured by an IED in the field. After flying to Germany she has gone through 4 surgeries and is slowly recovering. From her courageous service in Afghanistan she was awarded the Purple Heart. In her free time Danielle enjoys golfing.

Camp Lejeune rolled out the V.I.P service for us with our very own escort and access to the state of the art gun range. Check out behind the scene photos of Kaitlyn, Danielle, and the ISAAY Team. Stay tuned for the results!
